Schott Vintage Cafe Racer Leather Jacket

Schott has been around, as a brand, since the early 1900's.  Started by two brothers, always in NYC, they created some of the best jackets on the market today -- some people may even argue that they're the best.  The British have Belfast, which quickly grew due to the increased Hollywood popularity and equivalent increase in the advertising budget, but I feel like Schott is really what makes the best of Made in USA, it's quiet, great looking and will last you a lifetime.  Huge bonus would be that not many people will know exactly what you're wearing because there are no visible logos, but they're sure to notice that you're wearing something nice...

Aero Tech cycling shorts

For those that read and follow this blog, you will notice that there are quiet a few cycling related topics on here, and that's because cycling is a huge hobby of mine.  So it would come as no surprise that I would seek out items that are Made in USA and also are for cyclist.

These shorts are made in Pennsylvania and feature a full gell insert for comfort on the longer rides. And when in doubt - always wear normal shorts over cycling shorts.

WALLACE & BARNES Slim Selvedge Jean

I have to celebrate JCrew's recent venture into Made in USA product, the brand is really going back to its roots is laying down an effort to source product that looks great and is made in America - which makes my life very easy.  These jeans are made in New York but they're from Japanese denim though.

Ball & Buck Shaving Brush

This is for the gentleman, this is for someone that appreciates time or at least can afford to waste the time.  Shaving is an art form, and not to be the mall-store cliche, it really is -- since a lot of men either are unwilling to invest the time nor the money to do it like it was done decades ago.  What is perhaps even worse, that the art of shaving has disappeared from the 'new world", both in terms of equipment but also the establishments. At least up to this point -- The good folk at Ball & Buck went back to the golden days of the product and started sourcing 100% badger hair made shaving brush that are hand produced in New York City where one craftsman does the whole job, from beginning to end.

Landshark Bikes

The story of Landshark is really just a story of one man - John Slawta, and when I say "one man" it's more like one great man, a legend in the cycling world.

Not is everything built by hand in the USA, it's actually all built by just this one man. Whether you're looking for steel or carbon, he does it all himself - down to the paint job - the man does everything and touches all.

Hacker Boats

Hacker boats are true America craftsmanship.  That something like this still exists and remains intact from the original ideology is an amazing feat.  What else is amazing about these boats is the amount of grace, style and handcrafted expertise that gets put into each and everyone of them.  They're still built to your specifications in Silver Bay, New York.  Whether you have a vintage craft that you'd like restored or a brand new one, you can rest assured that a Hacker boat will never go out of style and will turn heads for decades to come.

Traveler Turntable

Who doesn't vinyl?  Hopefully you're not a hipster and just have finished your sleeves and now have an extra $ and the turntables at Urban Outfitters are not your thing.

VPI, the company that makes the Traveler has been around since vinyl was the MP3 of its day. And the Traveler table shines with quality and stability, with steady driven motor that has no impact on the sound with any extra noise nor distortions.

Steelman bikes

I'm a huge cycling fan, huge! So when there's an opportunity to combine cycling, style and made in USA I'm all over it. Today I'd like to talk about some of the best custom crafted frames out there - the workmanship on these is absolutely amazing. Perhaps the best feeling you can get from owning one of these is knowing the incredible amount of attention that lies below that beautiful paint job.

Makr Shell Cordovan iPhone case

I'm an absolute sucker for shell cordovan products, and have posted more than a few times about it. I'm also a big fan of my iPhone and if you're too, then honestly this pouch is amazing - no need to buy obnoxious LV monogram stuff when you can have a timeless elegance of Makr sleeve. Comes in a variety of colors and like most shell cordovan stuff it will outlast your iPhone. Makr makes a bunch of neat stuff and all in the USA, hand made.

Club Monaco Tartan Cambridge Jacket

While not everything from Club Monaco is made in USA, in fact majority of their stuff is made "elsewhere", I still think this is a great effort by CM to support and utilize American craftsman. This jacket is amazing and is all style and is perfect for a cooler spring or an early fall.

Bowery Lane Bikes

NYC in the recent decade has become one of the capitals of cycling culture not only in USA but arguably in the world too, well maybe not when you compare it to Vietnam. But, Bowery bikes fully embrace what makes NYC the city that it is and lets you live that style with 2 wheels. Although not the oldest and not the most custom made, Bowery still fulfills that hand made niche that not only looks great but is built with functionality as one of the top requirements. This is true made in USA example of great.

Osmium Brakeman Jacket

This post is not so much just relating to the jacket, but to the overall brand -- Osmium.  Osmium was created based on a great philosophy -- the stylish and comfortable articles of clothing that become part of you and your life.   Take the Brakeman Jacket for example: it is made of all natural materials, there is no polyester here, all 100% wool with cotton lining.

I'm just really impressed by this brand, their breath of product and their overall commitment to Made in USA:

BUILT TO LAST IN THE USA
All of Osmium's products are cut and sewn in the United States. We may live in a global economy, but we can still support local businesses. Our supply chain starts with small batches of the best materials in the world:buttons from Italy, shirting from Japan, virgin Merino wool from the Andes. We bring these materials to American factories, where they are expertly crafted into our signature pieces.
Whether it's a vest from Chicago, a sweater from Los Angeles, or a shirt from Fall River, MA, each of our garments has taken a unique journey en route to your door.

If you would like to learn more about Osmium and read all about their official launch at the USA Love List blog.

Johnson Woolen Mills Hunting Jacket

Johnson Woolen Mills have been around since the late 1800's, and always in Vermont, so no, it wasn't started by hipsters for hipsters in Brooklyn or San Francisco. This was what people wore when they went out chopping wood, did farming and whatever else you do when it's cold outside and you live in pre-electricity era. You want to wear what's comfortable, will last a while and most importantly what will keep you warm. The jacket is the "hunting" jacket, and man are you going to be the most styling hunter around, but, if you're into pounding Pabst's, you'll also fit right in. These are a little pricy, but remember, you're not buying a trend but a timeless classic, which was born out of necessity and quality more so than out of a fashion statement. And as always, Made in the USA.

Fame Appeal Scarves

Scarves are very trendy right now, especially for men and in Europe, USA in that sense lags. But, it seems that the people at FameAppeal are trying to change that. Made in USA, these scarves are a perfect accessory for this cold season. My only issue with these is that they're polyester but the price reflects that, they're only $19.

Carhartt Men's Jacket

Like all great things, Carhartt company was started with a purpose -- to make the best working clothes. Hamilton Carhartt begun manufacturing clothes under his own name in late 1800's and today the company is still around based on the quality principle. While not all products are still made in the USA, Carhartt has taken the time and effort to bring back production to USA through a selection of their wares. One of the best ones that stands out not only for utility but awesome style is the classic Detroit Jacket. This is one rugged piece of clothing that will keep you protected but you also won't be embarrassed wearing it out. Priced very reasonably at around $100, this a true Made in USA classic.
